My name is Tara Brown and I am the founder and CEO of myShai' Bath & Body Treats, LLC. I have been a licensed cosmetologist with expertise in hairstyling while well versed in hair care for over 30 years. During this time, my studies, tireless work and experience throughout, developed my skills and techniques in providing a luxurious selfcare experience.
I've always been passionate about innovating the simple. My background as an art major, prior to cosmetology, has allowed me to express creativity in the hair industry then later evolved into massage therapy, which introduced the aromatherapy element.
Knowledge in chemistry theory from my cosmetology education stimulated the desire to explore further into product making out of several experiences and needs with my children. My daughter was first obsessed with lip balm and I grew tired of buying it because I knew that I was capable of making it myself. Then as she grew into her adolescent years, she began experiencing acne breakouts. I remembered previously healing my own acne breakout after a stressful time during massage school. I created a melt and pour soap, toner, and moisturizing regimen which successfully improved my acne in a matter of four weeks, and so I did the same for my daughter.
Coupled with that, my 5 year old son at the time, with his OCD tendencies, would grow irritated whenever his nose would run. He didn't understand why it was occurring so he would consistently wipe his nose and face until it became raw. Considering that petroleum jelly is clogging to the pores, I researched to strategically make a salve that sits on the surface of the skin in addition to soothing it as well. Another success...his skin improved! As a result from this, I was eventually lead to soap making from scratch which tapped back into my passion for art and I fell in love! I started testing my products with clients, friends and family and from there I received positive feedback along with requests to purchase. I started going from door to door with a mission to aid in providing healthier alternatives to skincare while also giving our customers a luxurious, relaxing, in home spa experience.
And so this is how myShai was born!
